The All Progressives Congress (APC) has accused the presidential candidates of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Atiku Abubakar and Peter Obi, as well as Obi’s running mate, Rabiu Kwankwaso, of grandstanding ahead of the 2027 general election.
APC National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka, made the allegation on Tuesday during an interview on TVC’s Beyond The Headlines.
Morka particularly criticised Kwankwaso, saying the former Kano State governor was part of the political establishment responsible for some of the challenges Nigerians are currently facing.
He argued that Kwankwaso could not present himself as the alternative or “new direction” Nigerians need.
“Kwankwaso, a new direction to where? And I will offer an answer: a new direction to nowhere,” Morka said.
He added that the 2027 election should not be about politicians creating “empty buzzwords” or presenting themselves as outsiders to the problems confronting the country.
According to him, the political records and roles played by Atiku, Obi and Kwankwaso should be considered when Nigerians assess their claims and campaign promises ahead of the election.
