LAGOS, NIGERIA — A political support group, Seyi Tinubu Mobilisers, has urged its members to begin door-to-door campaigns and community engagement. The goal is to secure President Bola Tinubu’s re-election in 2027.
The group made the call on Friday during a stakeholders’ meeting in Lagos. The meeting brought together coordinators from across the state.
The Call for Mobilisation
The group’s coordinator said the 2027 election will be won at the grassroots. He urged members to engage with voters at the ward and polling unit levels.
“We cannot rely on social media alone. We must go into our communities and speak to people directly. We must explain the president’s achievements and why he deserves another term,” he said.
Focus on Achievements
The group said it would focus on the Tinubu administration’s achievements. These include economic reforms, infrastructure development, and social intervention programmes.
Members were urged to highlight the government’s efforts to improve security, education, and healthcare. They were also asked to explain the rationale behind the removal of fuel subsidies.
Door-to-Door Campaigns
The group plans to deploy volunteers across the state. These volunteers will visit homes, markets, and community centres. They will distribute campaign materials and engage with voters.
“We want to reach every household. We want to ensure that every voter understands what is at stake in 2027,” the coordinator stated.
What This Means
The meeting signals the beginning of early campaign activities for the 2027 election. Support groups are mobilising to build momentum for the president’s re-election bid.
The success of these efforts will depend on the group’s ability to connect with ordinary Nigerians. It will also depend on the political landscape closer to the election.
What Happens Next
The group will begin its door-to-door campaigns in the coming weeks. It will also hold training sessions for its volunteers.
For now, the group is focused on building its structure. It aims to have a presence in every ward in Lagos State.
