The Federal Government has stated that it will be shut down Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos and Nnamdi Azikwe International Airport, Abuja, effective from Monday, March 23 for a period of one month.
The Director-General of the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority [NCAA], Capt. Musa Nuhu stated this in a statement on Saturday.
Recall that on Friday, the federal government stopped operation of international flight at three other international airports in Kano, Enugu and Port Harcourt from Saturday.
Capt. Nuhu said the closure would last till April 23 but pointed out that emergency and essential flights would be operated from both airports while the closure lasts.
He noted that domestic flight operations would continue normally in all airports in the country.
According to him, the measure is to manage the Coronavirus pandemic which rose from 12 to 22 cases on Saturday.
