A medical doctor, Dr Muhammaduu, has alleged that the reported attack on the advance convoy of cars carrying the Advance Team of security guards, protocol and media officers of President Muhammadu Buhari was a diversionary tactics from the real incident, saying that bandits massacred many in a revenge mission.
The Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, Mallam Garba Shehu, had on Tuesday, confirmed the attack on the advance convoy of President Buhari.
He described as sad and unwelcome the shooting incident near Dutsinma, Katsina State ahead of Buhari’s trip to Daura for Sallah.
According to him, the attackers opened fire on the convoy from ambush positions but were repelled by the military, police and DSS personnel accompanying the convoy.
Two persons in the convoy were injured but all the other personnel, staff and vehicles made it safely to Daura.
Reacting to the report, Dr Muhammaduu, taking to his Twitter handle, @Dr_Muhammaduu, said the narrative of the attack was initiated to swindle the attention of the people from the real scenario of what happened same day.
He wrote:
“The narrative that the presidential convoy was attacked along D/Ma axis was merely postulated to swindle the attention of the people from the real scenario of what really transpired!
“What I gathered from the conscious casualties and or their relatives is;
“Armed bandits were on a revenge mission yesterday in D/Ma, Safana, Kurfi, etc. villages like Wurma, Turare, Gora.
“What triggered the attacks?
“Sources has it that one Iro ron kasai & his 2 boys were killed recently in a successful mission led by ACP Aminu Umar of D/Ma area command in a village in Kurfi LGA.
“And yesterday also, I heard that ACP Aminu Umar was also on his way to launch another assault yet again to the armed bandits that were said to be gathering in respect of the killed iroron kasai, on their way to the mission..
“An informant (a civilian JTF member) leaked their information to the said bandits gathering for the mourning in which they took cover and ambush the gallantry cops men.
“It was also noted that late ACP Aminu Umar called the Kt Commissioner for more security & air support after he realized the situation on ground but no help arrived.
“They were ambushed, they fought bravely, sustained a lot of casualties in which he, Late ACP Aminu Umar, paid the ultimate price in the process.
“The informant was said to be lynched to dead by angry mobs.
The armed bandits overran more than 10 villages for hours scout free, killed a lot of innocent people and injured tons.
“They were said to be more than 400 in numbers, with heavy ammunition wreaking havoc all over.
“Yesterday was my busiest day ever in the A&E Dept of the D/Ma General hospital.
“We resuscitated and resuscitate a lot, 3 died at presentation.
“A lot of others were reported dead at the spot of the event.
“Dan Iyan Katsina & Member rep. D/Ma @ Kt house of assembly came in too
“It was later at night; bombs were dropped on innocent nursing mothers and children at the time when the armed bandits had all gone to their hideouts.
“I’ve seen a 4 month old baby with complete shattered Left eye, and one with a metallic object lodge in his gluteus region.
“At the moment, our A&E is filled, we have to refer a lot of victims of the security personnel operation of last night to GARSH Katsina, FMC Katsina respectively.
“My Question is: Why won’t our security personnel go after the real terrorist? Why are we being killed & played with?”
