Gunmen suspected to be political thugs have launched vicious attack on Obio/Akpor Local Government Secretariat in Rivers State.

Aggrieved former governor of Rivers State and the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Barrister Nysom Wike who was decapitated politically by his successor, Sim Fubara in the just concluded local government elections, comes from Obio/Akpor local area council.

In a video sighted by Newsband Newspaper, people were seen scampering for safety as the gunmen fire gunshots sporadically into the facility.

Some few police officers on ground were also seen returning fire so as to scare the criminal elements.

This is coming after political thugs razed a section of the Ikwerre and Eleme Local Government Council secretariats.

Unfortunately, these attacks are unfolding after the newly elected Chairmen were sworn in on Sunday by Governor Sim Fubara.
