Senator Orji Uzor Kalu, representing Abia North, has pledged to ensure that Abia State is won by the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the 2027 general elections. Kalu made this commitment during his annual New Year visit to the APC chairman in Ebonyi State, Chief Stanley Okoro-Emegha, in Ekoli, Edda Local Government Area.

The former governor of Abia State emphasized that he would leverage all available resources to secure a decisive victory for the APC, stating, “I will support President Bola Tinubu and the APC gubernatorial candidate in the elections. I will put my heart on the field to ensure that the APC wins in a landslide in Abia.”

Kalu acknowledged his friendship with the incumbent Abia governor, Dr. Alex Oti, but made it clear that politics is about victory rather than personal ties. He also called on state governors to take responsibility for the security of their states, highlighting his own tenure as governor when Abia enjoyed relative peace and security.

Reflecting on his longstanding relationship with Chief Okoro-Emegha, Kalu praised the chairman’s loyalty and commitment, noting that he has been a trusted ally since his early days.
