The Presidency has denied claims that a photo of President Bola Tinubu with Rwandan President Paul Kagame in Paris was AI-generated, calling it “false and misleading”.
The image was taken during an official meeting between the two leaders on Sunday and later enhanced for clarity using digital tools.
Senior Special Assistant to the President, Temitope Ajayi, stated that the picture is genuine and was taken with a mobile phone.
“The picture is real and not AI generated as claimed. The photographer only later used Grok to improve the picture quality. That is not a reason to conclude it was AI generated,” he stated.
He criticized media reports questioning the image’s authenticity, saying journalists should have sought clarification before drawing conclusions.
The meeting between Tinubu and Kagame was part of Tinubu’s European trip, where they discussed global developments and Africa’s growth.
