Enugu Obidient Movement Engages ADC Leadership, Strengthens Political Alliance

(DDM) – The Enugu State chapter of the Obidient Movement paid a formal familiarization visit to the African Democratic Congress (ADC) State leadership today, 8th January 2026.

DDM gathered that the delegation was led by the State Coordinator, Mr. Chukwude Ikenna Claat, accompanied by members of the State Collegiate Team.

The visit comes in the wake of recent political developments at the national level, particularly the decision of the Movement’s Principal, His Excellency Mr. Peter Obi, to formally align with the ADC.

Following directives from the National Coordinator of the Obidient Movement, Dr. Yunusa Tanko, state chapters across the country have been instructed to begin structured engagements with ADC state leaderships.

Speaking during the engagement, Mr. Claat described the visit as both symbolic and strategic, marking the beginning of coordinated efforts between the Obidient Movement and the ADC in Enugu State.

He reaffirmed the Movement’s commitment to people-driven politics, accountability, and the collective pursuit of a New Nigeria based on good governance, equity, and transparency.

According to Claat, the engagement aims to strengthen collaboration and unify progressive forces toward achieving national reforms and grassroots mobilisation.

The delegation was received at the ADC State Party Office in Enugu by the State Chairperson, Comrade Stella Chukwuma.

Comrade Chukwuma expressed delight at the visit and optimism about the emerging collaboration between the Obidient Movement and ADC in the state.

She described the visit as both timely and historic, noting that the convergence represents a strong alliance determined to reshape Nigeria’s political landscape.

Chukwuma welcomed the Obidient Movement into the ADC family and assured them of the party’s readiness to collaborate at all levels to advance shared values.

The discussions also focused on coordinating political education, advocacy, and awareness campaigns to strengthen citizen participation.

Comrade Chukwuma noted that the collaboration would consolidate efforts toward fostering a political culture anchored in transparency, accountability, and public service.

Mr. Claat stressed that the Obidient Movement would continue to prioritise citizen interests while supporting ADC’s initiatives in the state.

The delegation expressed readiness to actively participate in ADC-led programmes and align with party objectives while maintaining their movement’s core principles.
