Solicitors for Nigerian author Chimamanda Adichie have written to Euracare Multi-Specialist Hospital, Lagos, alleging medical negligence in the death of her 21-month-old son, Nkanu Nnamdi.

The child died on January 7, 2026, after undergoing procedures at the hospital.

The legal notice claimed the hospital, anaesthesiologist, and medical personnel breached duty of care, citing lapses in paediatric anaesthetic and procedural care, including inappropriate propofol dosing and inadequate airway protection.

The parents are demanding certified medical records and preservation of evidence, warning of legal action if demands aren’t met.
