Troops of Operation HADIN KAI (OPHK) have made significant gains in the fight against Boko Haram and ISWAP in Borno State.

In a recent operation, 11 terrorists surrendered, and eight others were neutralized during coordinated clearance operations.

The surrendered fighters handed over their AK-47 rifles and ammunition to the troops, following sustained military pressure along the Azir-Wajiroko axis on January 10, 2026.

The military operations, conducted under Operation DESERT SANITY V, also involved extensive clearance operations in the Bulaagalda cluster, where several terrorist enclaves and camps were destroyed, including the notorious Abu Nazir and Abu Ahmed camps.

The troops recovered weapons, magazines, and terrorist flags, and significantly degraded the operational capacity of the insurgents.

Similar operations in Yale and Bula Gaida areas forced terrorists to flee, leading to the destruction of supply facilities and the recovery of additional arms, ammunition, and a general-purpose machine gun.

Two suspected logistics collaborators were also arrested in Gubio Local Government Area for allegedly supplying food and materials to terrorist groups.

The military has reaffirmed its commitment to sustaining offensive pressure, dismantling terrorist networks, and restoring lasting peace and security across the North East region.
