A former U.S. Army Ranger and author, Nicholas Irving, has shared new details about the extravagant lifestyle of boxing legend Floyd Mayweather Jr., revealing that the retired champion was capable of spending as much as $1 million in a single day during the height of his wealth and fame.
Speaking about his time around the undefeated boxer, Irving explained that Mayweather’s spending habits were largely driven by the massive entourage that constantly surrounded him. According to him, the boxing icon often traveled with dozens of people, and he would take full responsibility for covering the expenses of everyone in the group.
Irving recalled spending weeks around Mayweather and witnessing firsthand how quickly money could disappear when living such a high-energy lifestyle. From luxury shopping trips to extravagant nights out, the boxer reportedly paid for everything without hesitation.
He explained that when Mayweather stepped out, it was never a small outing. The boxing star often moved around with an entourage of around 40 people, which meant every activity became a large and expensive event. Whether they were dining at upscale restaurants, shopping at designer stores, or planning entertainment for the night, Mayweather typically picked up the entire bill.
One example Irving shared involved a trip to the movies. According to him, when they arrived at the theater, it had been closed to the public so Mayweather and his group could enjoy a private screening. Renting out an entire cinema for just a handful of guests is something most people would consider a once-in-a-lifetime luxury, but Irving suggested that for Mayweather, it was simply part of his routine lifestyle.
Beyond entertainment, the expenses continued to grow through travel and luxury possessions. Mayweather is widely known for his collection of exotic cars, high-end jewelry, and private jets. With constant travel, shopping sprees, and high-profile outings, Irving said it would not be surprising for the boxing champion to spend between $500,000 and $1 million in a single day.
Despite the massive spending, Mayweather has long been associated with immense wealth thanks to his successful boxing career. Known by the nickname “Money,” he built a fortune through record-breaking fights, pay-per-view events, and business ventures that made him one of the richest athletes in the world.
Irving described the boxer’s life as fast-paced and intense, saying the average person would likely struggle to keep up with the constant movement and luxury. For Mayweather, however, that lifestyle appeared to be part of the image he built around his brand a life defined by success, excess, and living without limits.
The revelations have sparked discussions among fans online, with some expressing amazement at the scale of Mayweather’s wealth, while others debate whether such extravagant spending is sustainable even for one of the richest fighters in boxing history.
