Terror bandits struck again in Yankara community, Faskari Local Government Area of Katsina State, killing a vigilante operative in a late-night attack that has further heightened tension among residents.
Diaspora Digital Media understand that the victim, identified as Labiru Namada, was targeted shortly after returning home from a patrol duty on Friday night.
The criminal elements were said to have laid in wait before launching the deadly attack in the wee hours of Saturday.
According to security analyst Bakatsine, the incident occurred under cover of darkness, catching the victim off guard after what had been a routine security outing.
”Last night, bandits killed vigilante member Labiru Namada in Yankara, Faskari LGA of Katsina State.
“He was attacked around 3AM after returning home from patrol, with bandits reportedly waiting outside his residence. He had previously survived multiple encounters with armed groups.
“Residents say he played a key role in local security efforts amid ongoing insecurity in the area,” he said.
Meanwhile, residents described the killing as a major blow to local security architecture, noting that Namada had been actively involved in community defence initiatives aimed at curbing bandit attacks in the area.
