Alana Anisio Rosa, the 20-year-old who survived a horrific attack after rejecting a man’s advances, appeared in court for the first hearing of the case, surrounded by supporters calling for justice.
The incident occurred in February 2026 in São Gonçalo, Brazil, where she was brutally attacked by Luis Felipe Sampaio. Reports indicate that after she politely refused to date him, he later broke into her home about a month after the rejection and carried out the assault using a pocket knife, stabbing her approximately 40 to 50 times.
Alana survived the attack after undergoing multiple surgeries and being placed in an induced coma, a recovery process that has been described as both physically and emotionally demanding. Her appearance at the hearing marks a significant step in her journey toward justice.
The video from the court shows her alongside supporters, many of whom have rallied behind her, turning her case into a broader call for accountability and awareness around violence against women particularly incidents triggered by rejection.
Her story has resonated widely, with many highlighting her strength and the importance of ensuring that such acts are met with serious legal consequences.
