Nigerian socialite and self-acclaimed relationship expert, Blessing CEO (Blessing Nkiruka Okoro), has broken her silence after her recent remand at the Kirikiri Correctional Centre following fraud-related charges brought by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
She appeared before a Federal High Court in Lagos on June 9, where she was granted bail set at ₦10 million. However, she was still remanded after the EFCC reportedly declined to take her into custody due to facility constraints.
On the same day, she was also arraigned in another separate case involving allegations of a ₦69.1 million fraud.
Shortly after the court proceedings, Blessing CEO took to Instagram to address the situation, speaking openly about the charges while maintaining what appeared to be a confident and upbeat tone.
According to her, the cases against her include multiple allegations she insists are misunderstandings.
“3 charges with EFCC. First is 36 million naira which I have already paid off. Tenancy dispute. Second is 69 million naira, also tenancy issue. I did not sell anyone’s house; I only rented it out. Third is the cancer drama involving 13 million donated and claims that I doctored someone’s results,” she stated.
She further revealed that she had entered a not-guilty plea on all counts after spending 26 days in EFCC custody.
Blessing CEO also disclosed that this is not her first experience with incarceration, recalling a previous case in 2022 involving defamation and cyberbullying allegations.
Describing her current situation, she wrote that she had been remanded at Kirikiri while working on fulfilling her bail conditions, adding that she remains optimistic about the outcome.
“This is my second time in Kirikiri. I believe it will end in praise. Watch God turn this into a stepping stone,” she added.
In a lighter tone, she thanked the EFCC for what she described as unexpected “publicity” and even joked about becoming an ambassador for the agency.
She also appealed to supporters to keep her in their prayers, noting that her bank accounts had been restricted. Additionally, she encouraged friends and well-wishers to visit her at the correctional facility on visiting days and bring food items.
Reactions online have been divided, with some users criticising her statements while others offered words of encouragement.
The legal proceedings are still ongoing, and none of the allegations have been proven in court.
