Nigerian influencer Priscilla Ojo has responded playfully to Tanzanian fans who have been asking her to “free” her husband, singer Juma Jux, after noticing his slimmer appearance.
The controversy began after Jux attended the widely publicised wedding of Nigerian influencers Jarvis and Peller, where fans observed that the Tanzanian music star appeared noticeably slimmer than they remembered.
His changed appearance quickly became a talking point among Tanzanian fans, with some expressing concern about his weight loss and others jokingly blaming his marriage to Priscilla.
Some social media users went as far as launching a “Free Juma Jux” narrative, urging Priscilla to “leave their brother alone.”
One commenter reportedly wrote, “Free Jux. He’s a big artist, and seeing him lose so much weight so suddenly is really worrying and painful for his fans.”
The comments spread across the couple’s social media pages, eventually prompting Priscilla to respond directly.
Rather than engage in a serious argument with the critics, Priscilla appeared to take the comments in good humour.
Responding to the calls to “free” her husband, she wrote, “Second belle don enter,” a playful Nigerian expression suggesting that Jux’s slimmer appearance could simply be associated with changes in his lifestyle and marriage.
Her response quickly caught the attention of social media users, with screenshots of the exchange circulating online.
While some fans found Priscilla’s response hilarious, others criticized people for focusing so heavily on Jux’s body and assuming that his weight loss was connected to his relationship.
Jux has previously addressed concerns surrounding his changing physique, reportedly explaining that he is comfortable and happy with how he currently looks.
His sister, Fatima, has also defended him against criticism surrounding his transformation, supporting his decision and his relationship with Priscilla.
The discussion has once again highlighted the intense attention surrounding the couple, whose relationship has attracted a large following in both Nigeria and Tanzania.
Priscilla, the daughter of Nollywood actress Iyabo Ojo, and Juma Jux, a prominent Tanzanian Bongo Flava artiste, have remained one of the most closely watched celebrity couples across the two countries since their marriage.
Although some fans may be genuinely concerned about Jux’s health, the singer has reportedly indicated that he is comfortable with his current appearance.
For Priscilla, however, the latest wave of criticism appears to have been nothing more than an opportunity for a playful clapback.
