Former Mr Nigeria Ugo Nwokolo has reportedly seen his engagement come to an end after his fiancée, Precious, allegedly discovered that he had two children and had previously been married twice.
Nwokolo, who won the Mr Nigeria title in 2024, has since ventured into acting and modelling, building a public profile through his career and social media presence.
According to reports circulating online, Ugo proposed to Precious several months ago, with their engagement attracting significant attention on social media. The proposal was particularly notable because of reports surrounding Ugo’s previous relationships and alleged failed marriages.
However, about six months after the engagement, Precious reportedly discovered that Ugo had been married twice and had children from those previous relationships.
The revelation allegedly came as a shock to her because she was reportedly unaware of the details of his marital history and the fact that he had children.
Sources quoted in the report claimed that Ugo had deliberately kept the information from Precious because he wanted their relationship to remain private. It was further alleged that when she confronted him about the revelation, he told her that she had no business knowing about events from his life before they met.
Precious reportedly viewed the situation differently, arguing that information about previous marriages and children was significant enough to be disclosed before entering into an engagement and planning a future together.
Following the discovery, she is said to have called off the engagement and blocked Ugo on social media platforms.
The reported breakup has since triggered a debate among social media users, with opinions sharply divided over whether Precious was justified in ending the relationship.
Some users have accused her of overreacting, arguing that everyone has a past and that having children or previous marriages does not automatically make someone a bad partner. According to this view, Ugo should be judged by who he is in the present rather than solely by his previous relationships.
Others, however, believe the central issue is not that Ugo had children or previous marriages but that he allegedly failed to disclose important information to the woman he intended to marry.
Some commenters also questioned whether repeated failed relationships should be considered a warning sign, particularly given the reports that Ugo had already experienced two failed marriages before the latest engagement ended.
The controversy has consequently shifted the conversation from Ugo’s past relationships to the broader issue of honesty and transparency before marriage.
While Ugo has not publicly addressed the allegations surrounding the collapse of his engagement, the claims continue to generate reactions online as social media users debate whether a partner’s undisclosed past should be considered grounds for ending an engagement.
