Israel shared footage of the unusual experience online, showing himself travelling at night inside a Waymo autonomous vehicle without a human driver behind the wheel.
The ride reportedly took place in a Waymo robotaxi, an all-electric Jaguar I-PACE operated through Waymo’s self-driving technology. The vehicle can navigate roads, respond to traffic and transport passengers without a conventional driver controlling it.
Reacting to the experience, Israel appeared impressed by the level of technology, captioning his post, “No country like America.”
The experience quickly attracted attention from social media users, many of whom were fascinated by the idea of getting into a taxi and reaching a destination without seeing anyone sitting in the driver’s seat.
