Abiodun Has Created Enabling Environment for Investors in Ogun, Says Aide

ABEOKUTA, NIGERIA — Governor Dapo Abiodun’s administration has created a stable and business-friendly environment that has positioned Ogun State as one of Nigeria’s leading investment destinations, his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Kayode Akinmade, has declared .

Speaking with journalists in Abeokuta on Sunday, Akinmade attributed the state’s growing appeal to the governor’s political maturity, infrastructure development, and commitment to creating an environment where businesses can operate with confidence . He said Abiodun plays “politics without acrimony” and understands that political differences should not be allowed to destroy relationships or communities .

“His approach is anchored on political maturity, restraint and a commitment to the larger interest of Ogun State. He has consistently avoided actions that could overheat the polity because he understands that peace and stability are essential to development,” Akinmade stated.

Akinmade said the administration had pursued its development agenda with passion, discipline, and integrity despite political and economic challenges . He highlighted the even distribution of development across the state’s three senatorial districts, with investments in roads, healthcare, education, housing, agriculture, and youth development . The administration has constructed, reconstructed, and rehabilitated over 1,700 kilometres of roads across the state’s 20 local government areas .

Among the major projects cited were the Gateway International Airport, the 108-unit Mohammed Buhari Estate, the Gateway Medical Centre of Excellence, the Onijanganjangan Power Project, and the reconstruction of the MKO Abiola Sports Arena. The state also recently inaugurated the ATC Business and Industrial Park, a 10-acre private investment hub near the Gateway Airport, and attracted an initial $100 million oil palm investment from Presco PLC.

Ogun State’s economy has grown from approximately N3 trillion to N17 trillion under Abiodun’s leadership, positioning it among the fastest-growing economies in Nigeria. Akinmade said the administration’s ISEYA development agenda has served as the blueprint for delivering critical infrastructure, improving social services, and empowering youths and women.

“The governor understands that investors need stability, predictability and an environment where businesses can operate with confidence. His administration has deliberately created that environment,” Akinmade said .

He added that Abiodun had changed the way Ogun sees itself and the way others perceive the state, concluding: “A trailblazer does not merely occupy office; he changes the trajectory of the place he leads. Governor Dapo Abiodun is changing the trajectory of Ogun State.“
