Afrobeats heavyweights Davido and Rema are set to return to the Afro Nation Portugal stage in 2027, where they will headline the festival alongside Congolese music star Fally Ipupa.
The seventh edition of Afro Nation Portugal is scheduled to hold from June 9 to 11, 2027, at Praia da Rocha in Portimão, Portugal.
The organisers unveiled the first wave of performers for the highly anticipated festival, with Davido, Rema and Fally Ipupa described among the major names leading the lineup.
Other artists confirmed for the event include Omah Lay, Odeal, Shenseea, Valiant, Victony, Bamby, Miimii KDS and Rayvanny, while South Gidi, the live project involving DJ Tunez, DJ Maphorisa, Wizkid and Mavo, is also listed for the festival.
The Piano People stage will also return with a strong amapiano lineup led by Kabza De Small and TxC. Dlala Thukzin is expected to appear as a special guest, alongside acts including 031Choppa, 2woBunnies, Benzo, Thatohatsi, Uncool MC, W4DE, Xduppy B2B Al Xapo, Young Stunna and Zee Nxumalo.
For Davido, the 2027 appearance marks another return to a festival where he has previously taken the headline spot. Rema is also familiar with the Afro Nation stage, having headlined the Portugal edition in 2024 alongside Asake, J Hus and Tyla.
Fally Ipupa, who has also performed at previous editions, including the 2024 festival, will equally make a return to the main stage.
Afro Nation Portugal has become one of the major international platforms showcasing African music, attracting fans from different parts of the world to the Algarve region. The festival combines Afrobeats, amapiano, dancehall and other sounds from across Africa and the diaspora.
The 2027 edition will take place slightly earlier than the festival’s recent summer schedule, with the official dates confirmed as June 9 to 11. Afro Nation has also announced an opening party for June 8 and a closing party for June 12.
With more artists expected to be announced, anticipation is already building around the return of some of Africa’s biggest music stars to the Praia da Rocha beach stage.
