Phyna Warns New BBNaija Stars Against Fans’ Hype

Former Big Brother Naija winner Phyna has advised newly graduated housemates of the reality television show not to allow fans’ reactions on social media to make them believe they have become permanent superstars.

The reality star shared the advice in a message circulated by YabaLeftOnline on X, warning the latest BBNaija contestants about the temporary nature of online attention and popularity.

“No let any fans ragebait you. They will make you feel like a superstar, but after one month, it is gone,” Phyna said.

Her message appeared to caution the new reality stars against getting carried away by the excitement, online arguments and intense fan support that often follow their exit from the BBNaija house.

The show regularly attracts passionate fan communities, with supporters promoting their favourite contestants, defending them during online disputes and engaging in heated exchanges with rival fan groups. Such activity can keep former housemates trending and generate considerable attention immediately after the competition.

However, Phyna’s warning suggests that the attention may not last, urging the newly introduced celebrities to remain conscious of the difference between temporary social media hype and a sustainable career in entertainment.

Having emerged winner of BBNaija Season 7, tagged Level Up, in 2022, Phyna understands the attention that comes with winning the competition. Her victory brought her widespread recognition and established her as one of the show’s prominent former contestants.

Since leaving the house, she has remained active in entertainment, social media and public discussions, while also experiencing disagreements with fans and online critics.

Her latest advice highlights a challenge that contestants often face after reality television: turning the visibility gained during the show into lasting professional opportunities.

Beyond fan support, building a sustainable career can require consistency, talent, business decisions, professional relationships and the ability to remain relevant after the excitement surrounding a television season fades.

Phyna’s comments have therefore drawn attention to the pressures newly unveiled housemates may face as they navigate their newfound popularity.

Her central message is that contestants should not mistake intense fan activity for guaranteed long-term success.

Whether the new housemates take the advice to heart remains to be seen, but the warning serves as a reminder that life after BBNaija can require more than trending hashtags and enthusiastic supporters.
