The Senate on Tuesday confirmed the nomination of Engr. Sani Mohammed Ndanusa as a Non-Career Ambassador/High Commissioner of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
The confirmation followed the presentation and adoption of a report by the Senate Committee on Foreign Affairs, chaired by Senator Sani Abubakar (Niger North), which screened the nominee following his nomination by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
During plenary, Senate President Godswill Akpabio presented the recommendations of the Committee of the Whole, which scrutinized the screening report submitted by the Foreign Affairs Committee.
Following a unanimous affirmative voice vote by lawmakers, the Senate President formally declared the nominee confirmed.
“The Senate confirms the nomination of Engineer Sani Muhammad Ndanusa for appointment as a Non-Career Ambassador/High Commissioner of the Federal Republic of Nigeria,” the Senate President announced.
“The nomination of Engineer Sani Muhammad Ndanusa is hereby confirmed.”
Congratulating the newly confirmed diplomat, the Senate President expressed confidence that Ndanusa would leverage his professional wealth of experience to advance Nigeria’s foreign policy objectives and strengthen bilateral ties abroad.
With the successful completion of the legislative screening and confirmation process, Engr. Ndanusa is now cleared for formal posting by President Tinubu to represent the nation at a foreign mission as part of the Federal Government’s diplomatic corps.
