A Kaduna-based couple abducted alongside their six-month-old daughter in Millennium City, Kaduna State, has appealed to security agencies and the public to help secure their release.
The appeal was made in a viral video showing the husband, Ahmed Abubakar Zakka, holding their baby while his wife sat beside him, with one of the kidnappers seen pointing a gun at him.
The couple was abducted on October 6, 2026, when bandits attacked Alrahus Estate in Millennium City, Chikun Local Government Area.
The attackers were said to have stormed the estate at about 11:30 p.m., moving from house to house in search of victims before forcing their way into the couple’s residence and whisking them and their daughter away.
In the video, Mr Zakka said the kidnappers were demanding N300 million for the family’s release.
“My name is Ahmed Abubakar Zakka. I’m seeking assistance. I was abducted on Monday around 11:30 pm, myself, my wife and our daughter at Millennium City.
“Please, we are seeking assistance because they are demanding N300 million. In the name of God, we are seeking assistance,” he said.
In the footage, Mr Zakka was seen carrying the baby, who was unclothed and crying, while his wife was also heard pleading for their lives.
The bandits also reportedly abducted a pregnant woman during the attack.
Her husband, Abdulkadir Bello, said he was in Abuja when the assailants invaded their home.
Mr Bello said his wife called him at about 11:30 p.m. to alert him that some people were trying to force their way into their compound.
He said he tried to reach the police but could not get through before contacting the military, which deployed personnel to the area.
Mr Bello added that the assailants later abducted his pregnant wife and subsequently contacted him to demand ransom for her release.
