“Are You Selling Food or Seduction?” — Chef Ify Raises Concerns Over Private Chef Trend VIDEO

Nigerian culinary expert Chef Ify has sparked conversation online after calling out what she describes as a growing shift in private chef content from food-focused service to suggestive entertainment.

In a recent statement, Chef Ify expressed concern that the essence of the private chef profession is being diluted, as some creators now prioritize sensual presentation over culinary skill.

“This private chef thing is getting out of control,” she said. “Lately, some of the things we see in private chef content are no longer centered on food, they’re centered on seduction.”

According to her, the trend is beginning to have real consequences for professionals in the industry. She noted that serious chefs are now receiving inappropriate messages from potential clients, blurring the line between hospitality and personal boundaries.

“At this point, we need to ask: are you selling your culinary skills, or are you selling sexual attention?” she questioned.

Chef Ify further revealed that some clients have gone as far as asking offensive questions such as whether a chef’s service includes a “happy ending,” highlighting what she sees as a troubling normalization of inappropriate expectations.

Her comments have since triggered mixed reactions online. While many agreed with her stance, emphasizing the need to preserve professionalism in the culinary space, others argued that content creators should be free to market themselves as they choose.

Despite the differing opinions, her message remains clear a call for reflection within the industry on what is being promoted, and the long-term impact it may have on respect, boundaries, and the integrity of the profession.

“We need to be careful with the things we normalize,” she concluded.
