Kashim announced this in his resignation in a letter addressed to the NDC Bauchi Local Government Area chairman, dated Oct. 16, 2026.
Kashim said that the decision followed careful reflection, adding that his action would not affect his commitment to the development of the state.
He explained that his political journey was far from over, adding that he would announce his next move in due course.
Kashim urged his supporters to remain calm, steadfast and united, saying that his mission transcended party affiliation.
He said he would announce the next phase of his political journey in due course, urging his supporters to remain calm and united.
“Our political journey is far from over, and our commitment to the rescue and development of Bauchi State remains unwavering. We shall continue to engage constructively with all well-meaning individuals and groups who share our vision of a peaceful, prosperous, and economically vibrant Bauchi.”
“In due course, we shall communicate to you the next phase of our struggle and the direction we intend to take. Until then, I urge you to remain calm, steadfast, and united in our collective determination to build the Bauchi State of our dreams. Our mission is bigger than any political party; it is about the future of our people and the destiny of our state and Country.”
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) recalls that Kashim was among the 15 NDC governorship candidates for the 2027 general elections earlier announced by the Independent National Electoral Commission.
