Nigerian comedian and actor, Bright Okpocha, popularly known as Basketmouth, has urged Nigerians to embrace gratitude and appreciate the gift of life and good health.
In a message shared via his Instagram Story on Sunday, the entertainer encouraged his followers to remain thankful to God, stressing that waking up healthy each day is a blessing many people do not have.
“We all need to do better at showing gratitude to God. Waking up in the morning, healthy and alive, is a blessing that many people don’t have,” he wrote.
Basketmouth advised people to look beyond everyday struggles and disappointments, noting that challenges such as missed deadlines, job setbacks, or financial difficulties should not overshadow the value of being alive and in good health.
“So what if you miss a deadline? So what if you don’t get that promotion? Lose your job? Or your car breaks down? If you are alive and healthy, you still have something priceless,” he added.
Using a humorous but relatable example, the comedian highlighted how people often take their bodies for granted until they experience discomfort.
“Have you ever had boils on both ass cheeks before? That’s when you truly discover the importance of buttocks. Suddenly, sitting becomes a luxury and functioning buttocks become a blessing,” he said.
His message has resonated with many fans online, sparking conversations about gratitude, perspective, and the importance of valuing one’s health above material concerns.
Basketmouth’s reflection serves as a reminder that, despite life’s pressures, maintaining a grateful mindset can help shift focus toward what truly matters.
