After Bobrisky’s arrest, Censors Board bans movies depicting cross-dressing

Film Censorship Board has ordered that movies depicting or endorsing cross-dressing and thuggery are not allowed in Kano State, northern State.
This comes barely two days since after controversial crossdresser Idris Okuneye aka Bobrisky was nabbed by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), for allegedly mutilating the Nigerian currency, Naira.
The board’s spokesman, Abdullahi Sani Sulaiman, said the decision to prohibit those films was made in response to public concern about the potential promotion of criminal activities and inappropriate behaviors among young people.
“it is high time to fish out any film that may demoralize our customs, norms and values in the name of reaching popularity, viewers or business making,” he warned.
Diaspora Digital Media had reported that EFCC had nabbed Bobrisky.
He is still being held after failing to meet his bail conditions.
