Popular Nigerian comedian and content creator Brainjotter has opened up about his difficult financial journey before becoming one of the country’s most recognised entertainers.
Reflecting on his past, Brainjotter said he never imagined that his life would eventually take the direction it has today.
The comedian recalled earning as little as ₦25,000 per month, before losing his job and struggling to make ends meet through small payments and temporary opportunities.
According to him, he was so accustomed to the struggle that he did not even realise how difficult his situation was at the time.
Brainjotter said it was only after his financial situation improved that he began to understand the extent of what he had previously endured.
He also recalled signing a one-year contract worth ₦2 million without properly reading the agreement because he urgently needed money.
However, the comedian said his career grew rapidly afterwards, and within just three months, he had already outgrown the terms of the deal.
His story highlights the dramatic transformation in his financial circumstances and career, from surviving on a modest monthly salary to becoming a successful entertainer with significantly greater earning power.
