Gunmen have abducted the wife and twin children of the younger brother of former Minister of Power and 2027 Oyo State governorship aspirant, Chief Adebayo Adelabu.

The incident reportedly occurred on Wednesday morning around the Challenge area of Ibadan, the Oyo State capital.

Confirming the development, one of Adelabuโ€™s media aides, Femi Awogboro, said the victims were attacked and taken away by unidentified gunmen while travelling within the city.

According to him, the abducted victims are Mrs. Laide Adelabu and her twin sons, Peter and Paul.

โ€œAdelabuโ€™s younger brotherโ€™s wife, Laide, and her twin children, Peter and Paul, were kidnapped this morning by unknown gunmen at Elewura, Challenge, Ibadan,โ€ Awogboro said.

He explained that the family was heading out from their residence in the Elewura area to connect to the expressway when the attackers struck.

โ€œThe family had just left home and were on their way to the express road when they were ambushed and whisked away by the kidnappers,โ€ he added.
