Brighton & Hove Albion produced a remarkable comeback at Old Trafford on Wednesday night, overturning a two-goal deficit to defeat Manchester United 3-2 and eliminate the Red Devils from the Carabao Cup.

In the 45th minute plus one, Charalampos Kostoulas raced onto a long ball into the Manchester United penalty area and managed to get ahead of Karl Darlow before slotting the ball into the net.
United protested during the build-up, with the home side believing Benjamin Sesko had been fouled, but the goal stood.
At half-time, Manchester United still led 2-1, but the complexion of the game had changed dramatically. Brighton had a goal, renewed belief and momentum, while United had failed to build on their explosive opening.
Brighton Turn the Match Upside Down
The second half became a completely different contest.
Brighton continued pushing forward and began exploiting spaces around Manchester United’s defence. The visitors were increasingly dangerous when they won possession and attacked quickly, forcing United to retreat rather than sustain pressure of their own.

Diego Gómez embarked on a lengthy run before delivering a dangerous cross into the penalty area. Maxim De Cuyper attacked the opportunity and finished from close range to send Brighton 3-2 ahead.
From being two goals behind inside the first 10 minutes, Brighton had scored three times and completely turned the match around.
United Search for a Response
Manchester United were now chasing the game they had appeared to have won within the opening minutes.
Bruno Fernandes was introduced as an emergency attacking option as Carrick attempted to restore some urgency to the home side.
United finally created a major opportunity in the 76th minute when Marcus Rashford was played through on goal. The forward had the chance to level the score, but Jason Steele stood firm and kept out his near-post effort.
Brighton then came agonisingly close to putting the result beyond doubt in the 84th minute.
Kostoulas saw his effort cleared off the line by Leny Yoro, before Gómez tested Darlow moments later, with the United goalkeeper making the save.
Those late chances ensured the closing stages remained tense, but Brighton held their nerve.
United could not find another goal before the final whistle.
A Historic Collapse at Old Trafford
The final whistle confirmed one of the most extraordinary reversals Manchester United have suffered at home in recent years.
United had led 2-0 after just 10 minutes and appeared to be heading comfortably into the next round. Instead, Brighton scored once before half-time and twice in the second half to leave Old Trafford with a 3-2 victory.
