American singer and dancer Cassie Ventura has denied allegations linking her to an alleged drugging incident, urging the court to dismiss a lawsuit filed against her by former model Edmond Laurent.
According to reports, Ventura described the claims as false and damaging, arguing that the case lacks merit. She is seeking to have the lawsuit thrown out, maintaining that the accusations do not accurately reflect what occurred.
Laurent, who has appeared in music videos for artists such as Britney Spears and Lil’ Kim, alleges that he was drugged with substances including Rohypnol and ketamine during encounters involving Ventura and music executive Sean Combs. He has also raised claims of sexual assault.
In response, Ventura pointed to past communications in which Laurent reportedly expressed support for her after she spoke publicly in 2023 about alleged abuse connected to Combs. She claims his stance changed after she reached a $20 million settlement in a separate case involving the music mogul.
Ventura further stated that she was not in control during the events in question, maintaining that evidence suggests she was also under the influence at the time.
The case has since drawn public attention, with ongoing legal proceedings expected to determine the validity of the claims and counterclaims.
