A senior lawyer, Dr. Tonye Clinton Jaja, has asked the Attorney-General of the Federation (AGF) and Minister of Justice and Director of Public Prosecution of the Federation (DPPF), to charge Dr. Monday O. Ubani, SAN, alongside Senator Onyekachi Nwaebonyi.
Dr. Clinton Jaja made the appeal in an open letter to AGF and DPPF, entitled “To avoid the appearance of selective justice, Dr. Monday O. Ubani, SAN ought to be charged alongside Senator Onyekachi Nwaebonyi“, and seen by Diaspora Digital Media (DDM).
According to Clinton Jaja, Dr. Ubani ought to be charged alongside Nwaebonyi “because he also published words against Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan”.
He appealed for the joinder of Ubani to the recent charges proffered against the embattled Senator.
He stated: “Hon. AGF… recall that you recently promised to investigate the unprofessional conduct of senior lawyers such as Prof. Mike Ozekhome, SAN.
“We plead that you extend same to Dr. Monday O. Ubani so as to send a strong message to lawyers.
“Additionally, another reason to add Dr. Monday O Ubani as a co-accused with Senator Onyekachi Nwaebonyi (they both share the same name, which is Onyekachi) is because Dr. Monday O. Ubani, SAN, is both a necessary party and accomplice whose publications also affected the public reputation of Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan.

About Clinton Jaja
Clinton Jaja, a public interest lawyer, noted that he that was called to the Bar as a Barrister and Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Nigeria in the year 2004.
Between the years 2019 and 2020, he served as the Chairman of the Governing Board of a federal government agency under the supervision of the Federal Ministry of Justice.
In 2018, he also served as a representative of the Federal Government of Nigeria to negotiate for repatriation of the $301m Abacha loot with the Attorney-General of the Island of Jersey, United Kingdom.
He undertook this assignment under the now defunct Special Presidential Panel for Recovery of Public Properties.
He also served Nigeria as a legislative drafting lawyer at the National Assembly’s Institute for Legislative Studies for eleven years before relocating to the Kingdom of Lesotho.
