Renowned author and public intellectual, Chief Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie, has spoken publicly for the first time following the heartbreaking loss of her 21-month-old son, Kanu Nnamdi.

Chief Chimamanda and her husband, Dr. Ivara Esege, lost one of their twin sons on January 7, 2026, at Euracare Hospital in Lagos.

According to the family, Kanu passed away during medical procedures, prompting serious concerns about possible medical negligence. The allegations raised include issues surrounding sedation and oxygen management. However, Euracare Hospital has firmly denied any wrongdoing.
