Dangote Crashes Diesel Price To ₦‎1,000 Per Litre

The price of diesel has been further reduced by Dangote Petroleum Refinery from N1200 to 1,000 Naira per liter, an unprecedented step.

Three weeks ago, when the products were being rolled out, the refinery delivered at a significantly lower price of N1,200 per litre, which was almost 30% less than the prior market price of roughly N1,600 per litre.

According to the refinery, “all sectors of the economy are expected to benefit from this significant reduction in the price of diesel at Dangote Petroleum Refinery, which will ultimately lower the high rate of inflation in the nation.”

Recall that DDM News, in an exclusive report on Thursday, revealed that indigenous ship owners were not part of the number of vessels that have lined up at the Dangote Refinery to load diesel and aviation fuel.

Mr. Sunny Eja, President of SOAN, stated in an exclusive interview with Tribune Online, “My members are not participating in the product lifting that is now taking place at the Dangote Refinery. We continue to communicate with different stakeholders to find out how we might get involved.

Devakumar Edwin, the Executive Director of the Dangote Group, was cited as saying, “We have substantial quantities,” earlier in a news interview. Goods are being transported by road and water. Ships are arranging themselves in a row to load aircraft jet fuel and diesel. For operational convenience, ships load a minimum of 26 million litre, while we strive for 37 million litre vessels.
