Diaspora Digital Media (DDM TV), in partnership with MTN, has launched a youth empowerment programme aimed at expanding internet access and promoting technology education among National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) members posted to Anambra State.
Under the initiative, MTN has provided free Wi-Fi routers to corps members at the NYSC orientation camp in Awka, offering them an opportunity to access internet services and develop digital skills through DDM Tech Academy.
Corps members interested in the programme are required to enrol in one of the technology courses offered by DDM Tech Academy at a fee of ₦20,000. They are also required to pay ₦9,000 for a one-month MTN data subscription to activate their routers.
While the routers are provided free of charge, the course fee covers enrolment in technology training, while the data subscription provides internet access.
The initiative aims to equip young graduates with practical digital skills that can support their personal development, career growth and employment opportunities in an increasingly technology-driven economy.
DDM TV, MTN plan to extend programme to future NYSC batches
The collaboration is expected to continue beyond the current batch of corps members, with DDM TV and MTN planning to extend the programme to subsequent batches arriving at the Anambra NYSC orientation camp in Awka.
The planned expansion is expected to create more opportunities for corps members to access internet connectivity and technology education during their service year.
Through the partnership, both organisations aim to promote digital inclusion, encourage technology adoption and equip young Nigerians with relevant skills for the digital economy.
