Don’t vote for Obi, he wants to kill APGA — Anambra Govt tells residents

The Anambra State Government has urged electorates, particularly in the region, to resist voting for the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) presidential candidate, Peter Obi, in the 2027 general election.

The government made the call in a post titled “A Betrayal Alert for Ndi APGA” on its X account on Monday.

It alleged that Mr Obi had been working to undermine APGA since 2014, despite the party having supported his political rise.

“A vote for Peter Obi and the NDC is a vote to kill APGA.

“Since 2014, Obi has had one mission: to destroy the party that made him. In 2025, while President Tinubu stood with APGA, Obi backed opposition to bury us,” the post read.

The state government urged APGA supporters not to be deceived by Mr Obi, calling on them to defend the party.

“Do not be deceived by a man who abandoned his own house. Anambra is APGA. Ndi APGA, defend your home. Resist the NDC,” it added.

Obi served as governor of Anambra State under the APGA, but party proponents have called him an outsider who supports candidates from other parties rather than APGA.
