Hollywood actor Faizon Love, best known for his role in the holiday film Elf, has made his first court appearance in Florida following his recent arrest linked to an ongoing child support case.
The actor is reportedly facing two contempt of court charges after his ex-partner, Tiffany Lee, accused him of owing approximately $250,000 in unpaid child support.
During proceedings, Love claimed he is financially struggling, stating that he earns only about $10,000 annually from royalty checks tied to Elf. He also revealed that he drives a 1999 vehicle and sometimes lives in it due to his financial situation.
According to reports, Love was initially arrested in Riverside County, California, before being transported to Hillsborough County, Florida, in connection with the case. His attorney confirmed that the move was based on orders issued by Judge Mark Kiser.
The actor reportedly spent 16 days in jail before being released.
The case has since sparked widespread reactions online, with many expressing surprise at Love’s alleged financial struggles despite his association with a globally recognized film.
As the legal battle continues, questions remain about the accuracy of his financial claims and the next steps in resolving the child support dispute.
