The Emir of Gumel in Jigawa State, Alhaji Dr. Ahmed Muhammad Sani II, CON, has died.
The monarch passed away on Thursday in Egypt where he was receiving medical attention on Thursday.
Born on December 12, 1942, the late 16th Emir of Gumel passed away at the age of 83.
He was one of Northern Nigeria’s longest-serving and most revered traditional rulers.
He ascended the throne on December 16, 1980, following the death of his father, and received his staff of office in May 1981.
He ruled for over 45.
