A self-identified Nigerian feminist has sparked widespread outrage online after making an extreme and controversial statement about male children.

In a viral post, she said: “Yes I will k!ll that child if it’s a boy. All the monsters in the society today are men. All the rapists, pedophiles are men. So I wonder why the male child is celebrated. I am ending that mother f#ckers life. I don’t need your opinion. Period.”

The comment has been met with strong condemnation across social media, with many users describing it as dangerous, harmful, and unacceptable regardless of the frustration behind it.

Critics argue that while conversations around gender-based violence and societal issues are important, promoting harm or violence against any group especially children crosses a serious line. Others also pointed out that generalizing an entire gender ignores the complexity of such issues and undermines constructive dialogue.

Some reactions acknowledged that anger over real societal problems, such as sexual violence and inequality, may fuel such extreme views, but emphasized that advocacy should never include threats or incitement to violence.

The incident has reignited conversations around online rhetoric, accountability, and the limits of expression, especially when statements appear to endorse harm. Many are calling for more responsible engagement in discussions about gender and social justice, stressing that meaningful change cannot come from hate or violence.

As the post continues to circulate, it serves as a reminder of how quickly extreme opinions can escalate into broader debates about morality, safety, and the responsibility that comes with having a public voice.
