CHICAGO, Illinois — The Illinois Legislative Latino Caucus Foundation (ILLCF) has opened applications for its 2026 scholarship programme, offering financial assistance of up to $5,000 to Latino students in Illinois who are pursuing higher education or vocational training.
Established in 2002, the foundation is committed to promoting educational advancement, leadership development, and greater opportunities for Latino communities across the state. The scholarship programme supports students enrolled in certificate, vocational, technical, associate, undergraduate, and graduate programmes, helping them achieve their academic and career goals through meaningful financial support.
The scholarship is available for students pursuing certificate programmes, vocational programmes, technical programmes, associate degrees, undergraduate degrees, and graduate degrees. Students enrolled in a wide range of academic and career-focused programmes are eligible to apply, including vocational and trade studies, technical education, associate degree programmes, bachelor’s degree programmes, graduate degree programmes, and certificate courses.
Recipients of the ILLCF Scholarship may receive financial assistance of up to $5,000 to support tuition and educational expenses. The scholarship assists students in completing certificate, vocational, undergraduate, or graduate studies and provides opportunities to advance educational and professional goals.
To qualify for the scholarship, applicants must identify as Latino, currently reside in the state of Illinois, and be enrolled either part-time or full-time at a recognised college, university, vocational school, or trade school. Candidates must be pursuing a certificate, associate degree, undergraduate degree, or graduate degree and must not have previously received an ILLCF Scholarship.
The scholarship is open to Latino students currently residing in Illinois, including undocumented students living in Illinois and DACA recipients residing in the state. Applicants must meet any additional programme-specific requirements as outlined by the foundation.
The application deadline is July 3, 2026. The foundation awards approximately 20 scholarships annually, with the exact number of awards varying each year.
To apply, prospective candidates should gather all required documents before beginning the application. Applicants must visit the official ILLCF scholarship application portal, complete the online application in one sitting, upload the required Letter of Recommendation and all supporting documents, review the application carefully for accuracy, and submit the completed application before the deadline.
