Iran issues dire warning to US UK France amid escalating tensions with Israel

Iran on Saturday, June 14, 2025, issued a stark warning to the United States, the United Kingdom, and France, stating that their military bases and naval vessels would be targeted if they assist in blocking Iran’s missile and drone retaliation against Israel.

This threat comes amid escalating hostilities sparked by Israel’s surprise attack on Iranian targets, potentially expanding a bloody conflict already entangled with Iran’s nuclear ambitions.

Former U.S. President Donald Trump expressed support for Israel, affirming America’s willingness to aid in its defense.

Reports suggest U.S. forces have already helped intercept Iranian drones and missiles nearing Israeli airspace.

French President Emmanuel Macron also pledged that France would support Israel in repelling Iranian strikes.

In contrast, the UK government emphasized de-escalation, with Prime Minister Keir Starmer asserting that British forces had not provided military aid to Israel.

Iran’s warning, disseminated through state-controlled media, aims to deter Western nations from supporting Israel, particularly as many of Iran’s projectiles are being intercepted.

However, acting on this threat would be a high-stakes move that could draw the West into direct conflict, especially with Iran already suffering from intense Israeli bombardment.

During a United Nations Security Council session, U.S. diplomat McCoy Pitt cautioned that any attempt to harm American forces or assets in the region would have grave repercussions for Iran.

On Saturday, the second day of aerial warfare, Israeli jets bombarded Tehran while Iran responded with a barrage of drones and missiles.

Iran vowed Israel would regret initiating the attack, while Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant warned Ayatollah Khamenei that Tehran would “burn” if missile strikes on civilians continued.

According to the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF), Iran has launched around 200 ballistic missiles and an even greater number of drones, though most have been intercepted.

In response, Israel claimed it struck 150 targets in Iran using hundreds of munitions.

Key air defense positions in Tehran were reportedly disabled, with an IDF official stating the “aerial road to Tehran is effectively open.”

Iranian state media reported damage to a fighter jet hangar at Tehran’s Mehrabad Airport and devastating casualties in a housing complex where 60 people, including 20 children, were reportedly killed.

Iran’s UN envoy, Amir Saeid Iravani, said 78 people had died, and over 320 were injured, many of them civilians.

Notably, nine nuclear scientists and senior military officials were among the dead.

Israel targeted Iranian nuclear scientists, who, according to the IDF, were instrumental in advancing Iran’s nuclear weapons program. Although Iran claimed its Fordow uranium enrichment site suffered only minor damage, Israel asserted it had caused significant harm at the Natanz facility.

The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) confirmed destruction of Natanz’s above-ground infrastructure but found no damage to underground sections.

The agency also reported manageable radiological and chemical contamination, with no elevated radiation levels nearby.

Additionally, Iran accused Israel of striking its Isfahan nuclear site, which includes a uranium conversion plant.

The IAEA warned that military attacks on nuclear facilities violate international law and could lead to disastrous radioactive consequences.

Israel justified its military campaign, dubbed “Operation Rising Lion,” by claiming Iran was nearing nuclear weapons capability, specifically weaponizing its uranium stockpile.

Though this claim does not appear in U.S. intelligence or IAEA reports, Israeli officials insisted Iranian technicians were working on a nuclear trigger device, with some of the work allegedly occurring in Isfahan.

Saturday morning saw missile sirens across Tel Aviv, the West Bank, and northern Israel. Several missiles were intercepted above the Dead Sea.

The deadliest incident occurred in the West Bank, where a missile, believed to be launched by Iran-backed Houthis in Yemen, killed five Palestinians, including three children.

Over the initial 24 hours of conflict, three Israelis were also killed and dozens injured.

Meanwhile, communications from Gaza were disrupted, with reports of Israeli forces firing at Palestinians near food distribution centers, though these accounts remain unverified due to a communications blackout.

Prior to Israel’s preemptive strikes, Iranian and American diplomats had planned to meet in Oman to discuss the nuclear standoff.

Iran’s foreign ministry spokesperson said the talks had “become meaningless,” casting doubt on the scheduled meeting.

As the conflict deepens, both sides show no signs of retreat. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu pledged further strikes, while Iran’s Supreme Leader vowed Israel would face ruin.

Iran’s newly appointed Revolutionary Guard chief, Mohammad Pakpour, threatened to unleash a wider war.

The U.S. role in the Israeli campaign remains ambiguous.

Although Trump initially urged diplomacy, he later praised Israel’s assault, with sources suggesting the U.S. shared high-level intelligence and may assist further if needed.
