Iran launches new missile barrage against Israel, causing widespread damage

A new wave of Iranian missile strikes, on Friday, June 13, 2025, has hit various locations across the occupied Palestinian territories, resulting in significant destruction and numerous casualties, according to multiple reports.

The latest strikes mark the third phase of Iran’s ongoing retaliatory campaign, known as Operation True Promise III, which began around 1:30 a.m. Iran time.

This latest escalation follows two earlier waves that targeted numerous strategic Israeli military and intelligence facilities.

In the newest phase, Iranian missiles reportedly struck several cities, including Tel Aviv, occupied Jerusalem al-Quds, Haifa, Lake Tiberias, Beersheba, and other areas, based on accounts from Israeli media.

Tel Aviv experienced the most substantial damage.

At least one missile is said to have hit a 50-story building, causing a massive explosion that sent thick plumes of smoke rising across the city’s skyline.

The impact was described as devastating, and Israeli media outlets reported widespread panic as emergency services rushed to the scene.

Officials labeled the strike a “strategic” hit, targeting a vital facility located south of Tel Aviv.

Due to the sensitivity of the site hit, Israel’s Home Front Command has reportedly enforced a media blackout on specific details.

With this move, it supposedly aims to prevent public embarrassment and limit the spread of operational information.

The regime has also instructed residents not to share images or videos of the missile strike locations, according to local reports.

Amir Al-Mousawi, Director of the Center for Strategic Studies and International Relations, stated that one of the Iranian missiles had successfully struck a nuclear research center in Tel Aviv.

Other unconfirmed reports suggest that the Israeli Ministry of Military Affairs may have also been targeted.

As rescue and damage assessment efforts continue, sirens and emergency alerts remain active throughout the occupied territories.

Israeli authorities are working to recover and stabilize the affected areas.

Speaking to Iranian state television, Brigadier General Ahmad Vahidi emphasized that Operation True Promise III would continue “as long as necessary,” pledging to avenge the “blood of the martyrs.”

This retaliatory barrage came in response to a series of Israeli airstrikes early Friday that targeted Iranian cities, including Tehran.

Those attacks were seen as assassination operations, aimed at eliminating key military and scientific figures in Iran.

The Iranian government confirmed the deaths of several high-ranking officials in those Israeli strikes.

These include Major General Mohammad Bagheri, Chief of Staff of Iran’s Armed Forces and Major General Hossein Salami, the former IRGC commander.

Others are Brigadier General Amir Ali Hajizadeh, head of the IRGC Aerospace Force; and Major General Gholam-Ali Rashid, commander of the Khatam al-Anbiya Central Headquarters.

Additionally, prominent Iranian nuclear scientists Mohammad-Mehdi Tehranchi, Fereydoun Abbasi, and Dr. Abdol-Hamid Minoucher were also killed.

The strikes resulted in the deaths of over 70 civilians, including women and children.

Brigadier General Vahidi stated that more than 150 key Israeli targets were hit in retaliation, many of which were classified as high-value military sites.

He confirmed that the operation was carried out in multiple, precisely coordinated phases by the IRGC’s Aerospace Division.

A senior advisor to the commander of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) hailed the strikes as a successful implementation of the IRGC’s operational capability.

He called the mission a direct response to Israel’s aggressive actions.

The launch of Operation True Promise III came shortly after a powerful message from Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, Leader of the Islamic Revolution.

He warned that the Iranian Armed Forces would act decisively against what he called the “despicable Zionist regime.”

Khamenei declared that Israel had made a “grave mistake” and that its actions would result in crippling consequences.

“The great Iranian people can be assured that their Armed Forces will respond forcefully,” Khamenei stated.

“Heavy blows will be delivered to this evil regime.”

As the confrontation between Iran and Israel continues to intensify, both sides remain locked in a cycle of retaliation, with the potential for broader regional conflict growing by the day.Iran launches new miss
