Mrs. Innocent Serah has allegedly stabbed her husband, Innocent Nwaọjị, to death in Umuokereke Ngwa, Obingwa Local Government Area of Abia State.
The incident reportedly ccurred on Saturday night.
Though, the circumstances surrounding the alleged stabbing and what may have led to the incident remain unclear, but it was gathered that Nwaọjị was allegedly stabbed while he was asleep.
A community member, David Amaraizu, confirmed the incident on Sunday.
He said the development had shocked residents of the community.
According to Amaraizu, the couple who got married in December 2025 had been married for barely eight months before the incident.
He said, “We are not aware of any disagreement between the couple before the incident. The woman had been arrested and is currently in police custody, while the deceased’s body had been deposited at a morgue.”
Police in Abia State is yet to issue an official statement in respect to the development.
