At least four Palestinians, including a married couple and a 17-year-old boy, have been killed in Israeli strikes and gunfire across the Gaza Strip, according to Palestinian health officials.

The deaths occurred in separate incidents on Tuesday, October 20, 2026, amid continued violence despite a ceasefire agreement intended to end the conflict.

Medics said an Israeli airstrike hit an apartment in Gaza City, killing Akram Yassin and his wife, Dina Abu Baker.

The Israeli military said it had struck a militant in the area but provided no further details about the incident.

In southern Gaza, a 17-year-old boy was reportedly killed by Israeli gunfire near the Qizan Al-Najar neighbourhood in Khan Younis.

Another Palestinian was killed by gunfire in the Zeitoun suburb east of Gaza City, according to medics.

The Israeli military had not immediately commented on the two reported shooting incidents.

Following the apartment strike, Palestinians inspected the damaged site before gathering for the couple’s funeral in Gaza City.

Mahmoud Yassin, whose brother was killed, criticised the continued violence despite the ceasefire arrangement.

“We’re supposed to be in a ceasefire period, but honestly, we are not seeing a ceasefire or anything,” he said, adding that killings and shelling had continued.

Israel has intensified strikes against Hamas in recent weeks, accusing the Palestinian militant group of rebuilding its arsenal and carrying out attacks in violation of the ceasefire.

Hamas has denied attempting to launch attacks or rebuild its weapons stockpile. The group has instead accused Israel of undermining the Gaza peace agreement.

The ceasefire, brokered by the United States about a year ago, included provisions for the eventual reconstruction of Gaza.

However, progress towards implementing a broader agreement to end the conflict has remained limited.

The proposed arrangement also includes provisions for Hamas to disarm and for Israeli forces to withdraw from the territory.

Gaza health officials say at least 1,500 Palestinians have been killed by Israeli fire since the ceasefire began.

Israel, meanwhile, says militants have killed four of its soldiers in Gaza during the same period.

The latest reported deaths highlight the continuing violence and difficulties in implementing the ceasefire agreement, despite efforts to establish lasting peace in the territory.
