An Israeli airstrike on a vehicle in Gaza City killed a man and his young daughter on Sunday, according to Palestinian health officials.
Mohamed Abu Selmia, head of Al Shifa Hospital, said the strike hit a vehicle in western Gaza City, killing Youssef Akila and his 8-year-old daughter, Wafaa. Six other people were reportedly wounded in the attack.
The Israeli military said it targeted a Hamas militant and that it was still assessing the outcome of the strike.
Medics said two other people were killed in separate Israeli strikes later on Sunday, including a child.
According to the medics, one man was killed near a telecommunications company east of Gaza City, while an Israeli tank struck a school sheltering displaced families, killing a 3-year-old boy.
The reported deaths brought the Palestinian death toll from Israeli attacks on Sunday to at least four, according to the medics.
A US-backed ceasefire that began in October 2025 brought an end to major fighting in Gaza but has not stopped Israeli military strikes.
Israel says its operations are aimed at preventing attacks by Hamas and other armed groups.
Hamas has accused Israel of violating the ceasefire and frustrating efforts to implement US President Donald Trump’s wider plan to end the conflict, which includes an Israeli withdrawal and the disarmament of Hamas.
Palestinian health officials say more than 1,300 Palestinians, mostly civilians, have been killed in Gaza since the ceasefire began. The Israeli military says four of its soldiers have been killed during the same period.
