Jectimi Comedy Blames Davido for VeryDarkMan’s Latest Attacks

Nigerian content creator Jectimi Comedy has criticised Afrobeats star Davido following renewed online exchanges involving the singer and social media activist VeryDarkMan.

Reacting to the controversy, Jectimi argued that Davido’s decision to associate closely with VeryDarkMan in the past has contributed to the situation he is currently facing.

The comedian’s comments followed reports that VeryDarkMan brought up an old video of Davido while mocking the singer after he danced to a song by Nigerian rapper Zlatan Ibile.

Jectimi questioned why VeryDarkMan would use the old footage to ridicule Davido, but said he did not entirely blame the activist, insisting that the singer had created the circumstances that allowed such attacks to happen.

“Seriously speaking, it’s Davido that brought all these insults on himself. Look at what an idiot like VeryDarkMan is using OBO to do. Just because Davido danced to a song by Zlatan, VDM decided to bring up an old video of Davido to mock him,” he said.

He further suggested that Davido’s good intentions may have influenced his earlier decision to bring VeryDarkMan close to him, a relationship he now believes has backfired.

“Because of your good heart, you went and brought someone like VDM close to you. Now look at the consequences. VDM came for Davido unprovoked and kept insulting him and his family,” Jectimi added.

The remarks have added another dimension to the ongoing conversation surrounding the relationship between Davido and VeryDarkMan, two prominent personalities who have previously been associated with one another.

VeryDarkMan, known for his outspoken social media activism and confrontational style, has frequently attracted public attention through his comments about celebrities, public figures and social issues. Davido, meanwhile, remains one of Nigeria’s most recognisable music stars, with his personal life and online interactions often generating widespread reactions.

Jectimi’s intervention has also sparked discussion about the consequences of celebrity associations and whether public figures should be held responsible for the conduct of people they previously welcomed into their circles.

While the comedian believes Davido’s past decision contributed to the present situation, his comments represent his personal interpretation of the dispute. The full context of the latest exchange, including the reason VeryDarkMan shared the old video, remains important to understanding the disagreement.

The controversy has once again placed Davido and VeryDarkMan at the centre of social media discussions, with fans and followers expressing differing opinions about who is responsible for the latest confrontation.
