The High Court has ordered the remand of Ifeanyi Ogbonna, popularly known as Odogwu Asaba, at the Ogwashi-Uku Maximum Correctional Centre in connection with the case involving the late Favour.

The remand order was granted on Friday, September 4, 2026, following an application brought before the court.

The development comes as investigators continue to examine evidence gathered in connection with Favour’s death, including the results of an autopsy and toxicology examination.

According to the lawyer representing Favour’s family, the autopsy and toxicology results have now been made available to the police investigation team.

The lawyer further stated that the findings, together with other evidence and information gathered during the investigation, have been incorporated into the investigation report prepared for the prosecution of the case.

Following the court’s decision, Ogbonna will remain in custody at the correctional facility pending further proceedings.

He is expected to be brought before the court as the case moves forward and the relevant legal processes continue.

The remand order does not, in itself, amount to a conviction. Ogbonna remains entitled to due process as the prosecution presents its case and the court considers the evidence before it.
