The Independent National Electoral Commission has uploaded 80.23 per cent of the results from Saturday’s Osun governorship election to its Result Viewing Portal (IReV).
The figure represents results from 3,019 of the 3,763 polling units across the state.
Voting took place across Osun’s 30 local government areas, with incumbent Governor Ademola Adeleke of the Accord Party, APC candidate Bola Oyebamiji and ADC candidate Najeem Salaam among the leading contenders.
Meanwhile, collation of results is ongoing, with early results showing Adeleke taking a lead in some areas.
INEC’s continued upload of polling-unit results to IReV is expected to provide voters, political parties and other stakeholders with greater visibility into the collation process.
