Additionally, his government recruited 2,000 teachers and extended service years for educators from 35 to 40.
He expressed disappointment that other states have yet to adopt this teacher-friendly policy.
To further strengthen education, the governor appointed Kebbi-born professors to lead Local Government Education Authorities (LGEAs).
This move aims to enhance oversight and raise academic standards.
Dr. Halima Bande, Education Commissioner, urged beneficiaries to use the materials effectively, stressing their importance in improving learning outcomes.
Professor Suleiman Khalid, SUBEB Chairman, praised the government’s investments, citing over 1,000 new classrooms, mega schools, and boreholes in schools.
He also highlighted technological upgrades, including hardware and software provisions.
According to him, these efforts have already elevated Kebbi’s education standards above the national average.
Beyond infrastructure, the administration allocated N200,000 to each School-Based Management Committee (SBMC) and trained 18,681 teachers and administrators.
Professor Khalid reaffirmed the state’s commitment to sustaining progress, ensuring better opportunities for students and teachers.
This initiative reflects Kebbi’s dedication to educational excellence through strategic reforms.
With continued investment, the state aims to secure a brighter future for its youth.
The event marks a significant milestone in Governor Idris’s efforts to transform education in Kebbi.
Impact on Teachers and Students
Teachers have welcomed the extended service years, calling it a morale booster.
Students, too, will benefit from improved facilities and learning tools.
The distribution of motorcycles ensures easier access to schools, particularly in rural areas.
Future Plans
The government plans further interventions, including more teacher training and infrastructure upgrades.
These steps aim to sustain momentum and ensure long-term educational growth.
Kebbi’s proactive approach sets an example for other states to follow.
Kebbi State’s N2.7 billion investment underscores its commitment to revolutionizing education.
By addressing infrastructure, teacher welfare, and technology, the government is laying a strong foundation for academic success.
Stakeholders remain optimistic that these efforts will yield lasting benefits for generations to come.
