Popular media personality King Mitchy has expressed disappointment after discovering that a man she recently gifted a brand-new motorcycle had allegedly sold it without informing her.
King Mitchy shared her frustration while recounting the incident on social media, explaining that she purchased the motorcycle for the man on April 28 with the intention of making his daily life easier and supporting his livelihood.
According to her, she was on her way to shoot when she unexpectedly saw the man riding his old motorcycle. Curious about what had happened to the newer bike she had given him, she approached him and asked about it.
She said the man told her that he had sold the motorcycle.
“I bought him a brand-new bike on April 28th. Today, while I was on my way to shoot, I saw him with his old bike. When I approached him and asked about the new one, he told me he had sold it. Honestly, I’m really disappointed and hurt. I gave him that bike to make his life easier and support him, so finding out that he sold it without even telling me is upsetting,” she said.
King Mitchy’s reaction suggests that her disappointment was not only about the motorcycle being sold but also about the fact that she was not informed before the decision was made.
The gift, according to her account, was intended to provide practical support and help improve the recipient’s circumstances. She therefore appeared particularly hurt that the gesture did not turn out as she had expected.
Her experience has since sparked conversations online about giving valuable items to people in need and whether recipients should be free to dispose of gifts however they choose once ownership has been transferred.
While some may argue that a gift becomes the recipient’s property and can therefore be sold, others have pointed out that the emotional intention behind such gestures can make an unexpected decision to sell the item particularly painful for the giver.
For King Mitchy, the situation appears to have been especially upsetting because the motorcycle was purchased specifically to make the man’s life easier and support him.
