A Nigerian woman has raised concerns after her vehicle’s tyre was damaged while she was driving along the Lagos Coastal Highway.
In a video circulating on social media, the woman expressed suspicion after noticing that several other vehicles had reportedly experienced similar tyre problems on the same stretch of road.
“I’m not accusing anybody, but something is telling me that people put stones on this part of the coastal road so that people’s tyres will burst and they will look for vulcanisers,” she said.
She pointed to other vehicles that had reportedly stopped along the road and noted that as many as three cars appeared to be dealing with similar issues.
“Because, look, up to three cars are having similar issues,” she added.
The woman’s comments have generated reactions online, with some social media users calling for motorists to exercise caution when driving along the affected section of the highway.
However, her suspicion that stones may have been deliberately placed on the road has not been independently established. The presence of multiple damaged tyres could have other explanations, including road debris or hazards on the highway.
The incident has nevertheless renewed conversations about road safety and the need for motorists to remain vigilant, particularly on newly constructed or developing road sections.
